Kessler Syndrome | Space Junk

The stuff we're putting in space is creating expensive problems

Man-made debris in earth's orbit is a looming threat to the well being of our current infrastructure and to future space missions/exploration. Collisional cascading -or the Kessler Syndrome- continues to keep debris propagating in earth orbit even if we stop launching things into space entirely.

Space junk is a real issue for the people of Earth.

This short film, "Kessler Syndrome," was made to recognize the work of Donald Kessler, who is referred to as the "father" of Space Junk (orbital debris).

This short sizzle reel, Kessler Syndrome, is chock full of footage from the Intentional Space Station and interviews with leading scientists in the field or orbital debris. Don Kessler did a superb job of presenting information on the issue of space junk.

Thank you, Don., for working to keep the skies safe for the present and future, for thinking ahead, for being an inspiration, and finally, for making this a fun project.
